FAQ 1: What parts of Weldon are under construction and unavailable?
Construction for Phase 2 is underway on the ground, 1st, 2nd, 5th floor.
Parts of the ground floor located beside the Map & Data Centre are unavailable until early-2024.
With ongoing construction, Weldon can be a noisy place! Help yourself to free earplugs at the Info Desk.
You can also visit any of the other Western Libraries locations for study space or to pick up materials requested for hold.
FAQ 2: How long will construction take?
Timelines for construction are complicated due to various restrictions such as supply chain issues that could affect getting necessary construction materials and furniture in place. You can follow renovation progress under our Updates.
FAQ 3: How does the Weldon Revitalization affect collections?
Phase 2 of the renovation does not require any relocation of collections.
FAQ 4: Can I still access the stacks in Weldon?
The stacks in Weldon – all the bookshelves – are accessible to all visitors. Currently, stacks are located on the second, third and fourth floors of the library.
