We’re so excited to share a sneak peek of the amazing new spaces that will open in Weldon Library later this year!

This virtual walk-through of the new, two-floor Learning Commons was created by our partners at Perkins+Will and gives you a better idea of how we plan to lighten and brighten what had become a dark, drab space, while still celebrating and accentuating the brutalist legacy of Weldon.

Now for the big news…

While construction is wrapping up in some areas of the building and progressing in others, library staff are working to safely re-open portions of Weldon on Tuesday, October 12.

Current Western students, faculty, and staff will check-in at the front doors of Weldon and be guided by Western Libraries staff up to the second floor (or higher) to ensure the safest travel possible around ongoing construction.

Access to collections will be on the second, third, and fourth floors of Weldon, and study spaces will be available across the second, third, fourth, and fifth floors.

For details about what’s accessible at Weldon as of October 12, visit the Western Libraries website.
